Hi, I’m Laura Canterbury!
I was born in California and spent much of my early life moving around the world with my family–my father is a retired pilot. Swimming was my first love, and I spent years training competitively before discovering my passion for running and yoga. The running came first and I ran several marathons, Boston hands down my favorite, but realized I needed the yoga to get through the long runs. I was hooked and became a certified yoga instructor through Yoga Alliance. I met my husband, William, at Auburn University in the mid 90’s. We have called Mountain Brook home for more than 20 years now. I love being a part of the TriFusion community creating a welcoming space where fitness feels energizing, challenging, and fun. Whether you’re pushing through a cardio set, mastering a yoga flow, dancing to the beat, or simply just showing up for yourself I’m here to help you reach your goals. Outside of TriFusion, I am a mom of five, a volunteer, golf lover, and a firm believer that movement-whether it’s running with my dogs Baxter & Scout or teaching a class-keeps life joyful and full.

TriFusion sculpt is all about toning and lengthening your muscles. This full body, nonstop workout will challenge you with just what you need in a quick workout to create a toned and sculpted lean body. We will use gliders, resistance bands, and body weight. It is a perfect class in addition to a TriFusion HIIT or cardio workout, after a morning run, or a great full body workout on its own.
Cardio Barre Fusion is a high-energy class designed to get your heart pumping while still focusing on the small precise movements everyone benefits from in barre fitness. This 45 minute all- encompassing total body workout incorporates barre, pilates, yoga and cardio.
Yoga Fusion takes you through an active, powerful style of yoga that incorporates pilates into the vinyasa sequencing. The fused workout also includes a challenging series of abdominal toners to strengthen core muscles while also providing lengthening stretches for a balanced strong body. Yoga Fusion is an all-levels class that offers something for everyone – poses that build strength, endurance, increase flexibility, reduce stress and enhance overall well-being.
Get ready to have some fun while you are burning calories and getting a 45-minute full body workout. Trampoline fitness is great for strengthening your quads, glutes and calf muscles. Bounce Fusion will improve weight loss, muscle tone and overall health – and will leave you feeling energized and empowered! This class is helps with balance and strength with no impact on joints.
Cardio Fusion will keep you moving with plyometric fitness, creative muscle-toning exercise, resistance bands and participant’s body weight. Class format integrates combinations of TRX, cardio, body weight training, and more. No two classes are the same. Students will work to improve cardiovascular stamina, core strength, and flexibility. This class will burn the maximum amount of calories and fat while creating lean muscle. You will have fun, reduce stress, and get an awesome workout using the studio and areas outside.
Dance Fusion with disco lights and blackout shades will feel more like a party than a workout. Unlike a traditional dance class where you learn specific steps or choreography, dance fitness is all about getting a sweat on and having fun while moving your body. Whether you consider yourself a great dancer or haven’t taken a dance class before, it’s easy to join in on the fun and experience a room full of motivated people who want to torch some calories.
Horizontal Conditioning is a core and functional strength class that works your body from head to toe; from the inside out. It is high intensity but not high impact. It has best been described as Pilates on steroids. Workouts use body weight with a props for resistance. Horizontal Conditioning gives you total body definition, endurance and strength. You get lean and defined muscles without bulk. To change your body, you have to challenge it. That is what Horizontal Conditioning is all about – putting in the work for an amazing workout with awesome results really honing in on your core.
Yoga Sculpt will turn up the heat with repetitive exercises to build lean muscle, stability, and strength in your body. You’ll light up every muscle with strength and yoga combined targeting your arms, shoulders, legs, booty, and core. Come build deep strength and stability while also creating full body awareness. Awesome 45-minute full body workout with weights and yoga in one class.
Barre Fusion is a 60-minute all-encompassing total body workout incorporating barre, pilates and yoga. Barre Fusion will focus on barre fitness, using the ballet barre as a prop to balance while doing exercises that focus on flexibility and strength training. Barre fitness involves very small movements done in precise ways, ultimately targeting specific muscles; especially small ones that don’t always get attention in other workouts. The Barre Fusion class will also involve a true sequence of mat pilates and yoga for a full body, fused workout and is suitable for everyone of all ages.
